I have been a governor for ten years, initially as a parent governor when my children were at Green Lane CE Primary School, and now as a co-opted governor. I am a member of the Curriculum Committee and High Force Education SCITT Management Group. My children attended Teesdale School, where I was also a parent governor for a time, before going to university. I taught science in secondary schools for 37 years, two years in Africa, and over a third of which was in a variety of schools in the North East. At present I keep in touch with education by marking GCSE and A level exam papers.
