I have a child currently in key stage 2 and another who has moved on to the next stage of their academic life. As a parent governor for the past 5 years, I chose to join the Finance and Premises and the Personnel sub committees. With my professional background in the private sector relating to Agriculture, I have experience with finance and people. Tailoring this with my continuing interest in pupil development at the school, helps me to complement a very proactive board of governors.
I am also part of a small sub group looking at the Headteachers’ performance, this I feel is vital for any school governing body. As with their staff, a Headteacher must always be challenged and motivated to look for improvements and the development of their pupils.
