(Updated Autumn 2018)
The school enjoys good working relationships with a wide range of people who provide services to children with SEND and their families, particularly when a child is demonstrating further cause for concern or their learning need is more complex and persistent. The external specialists may:
- Act in an advisory capacity
- Extend expertise of school staff
- Provide additional assessment
- Support a child directly
- Suggest statutory assessment is advisable
- Consult with all parties involved with the child
The school is committed to every child’s well being and have therefore dedicated a member of staff to ensure this. This role is completely varied. There are many children and families that have long term support, but the role is also reactive to whatever children and families may face. The role also offers support during holidays. This member of staff is also able to signpost children and parents according to their needs.
In addition to the well being post, the school buys in to a behavioural /counselling service that offers more specialist intensive interventions and support.
There is also support from a Speech and Language Therapist who works closely with the school.
If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
