Summer Term 2019
Welcome back to a new Term in Year 6! As usual, we will be trying to pack as much into it as possible!
In English, we will be continuing to master and improve our sentence structures to develop our writing skills. We will continue to answer higher order reading skills, such as inference and deduction, in our reading sessions.
In Science, we are going investigate ‘Electricity.’ We will begin with revision of simple circuits & then lots of hands on experience with symbols, diagrams & incomplete circuits. There will be enquiries about the length of wire in a circuit & the use of cells.
In Topic, we will be investigating ‘Crime & Punishment.’ How has crime and punishment changed through the ages? How were offenders dealt with in the Tudor times compared to today?
Other upcoming events include:
Durham Cathedral Outreach Programme – the children will have the opportunity to sing in chorister workshops leading to singing at Durham Cathedral!
Weekly homework will still consist of:
Reading Comprehension Sheet
Read for at least 4 times a week and have their diaries signed.
Studyladder Reading/Grammar/Spelling/Maths (optional)
Thank you for your continued support!
